Astrea 10 - big flower shaped plate
Det gick inte att ladda hämtningstillgänglighet
This is a rather big flower shaped plate. The shape of the stem, leaves and flower is modeled from a single sheet of clay bend inwards to connect and create a bowl-shape. It is roughly the size of an A4 paper, and would look impressive on any side table, or hung on the wall.
I call this ceramic series Astrea, this being the 10th in this series. The word Astrea has several meanings, one being the latin name of a major family of flowers (korgblommiga). It is also the name of the greek goddess of justice. Astrea is daughter to the goddess of dawn Eos. Eos happens to be the name of my similar series of bird-shaped plates.
Stoneware with tin-glaze and colorants. Size 270 x 220 mm, hight 47 mm. NOTE: this piece revealed some small cracks in the firing. I have sealed those cracks in a kintsuge-style, with a coating of real gold leaf (18 carat).
Made in spring 2026, exhibited in my June 16 exhibition.
